Dr Alyssa Arnold

Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Alyssa graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2009.  She has had broad respiratory and sleep medicine experience, having completed her specialty training at the John Hunter Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle and The Canberra Hospital.

Alyssa is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and a Member of the Australasian Sleep Association.  She is a staff specialist at John Hunter Hospital, Belmont District Hospital and is a Conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle with roles in Respiratory and General Medicine. In these roles she is involved in teaching Physician Trainees, Junior Medical Officers, and Medical Students at the John Hunter Hospital and Belmont District Hospital.

She has interest in all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine and is an accomplished bronchoscopist, also performing endobronchial ultrasound guided transbronchial biopsies for diagnosis and management of benign and malignant respiratory disease. Home diagnostic sleep studies and in-lab diagnostic and treatment sleep studies are performed through Sleep Medicine (Charlestown), with inpatient beds at Warners Bay Private Hospital.

When Alyssa is not at work, you may find her at the beach with her family, jogging through the bush, or enjoying a coffee with friends.
